How to get beauty freebies

Most of us would agree receiving free goodies to try out is pretty cool. This is how I get to test out beauty products, even though they are mini sized, without paying a single penny.

  • Gifts/Samples with purchase. Most beauty stores (online too) offer free samples with purchase. When I shop at Debenhams for example, I always ask politely if they could throw a few samples in my bag. That's how I try most of my fragrances before buying them.
  • Join member clubs. This is the best tip of all! Join your favourite shop/brand's beauty club. It usually costs nothing but it pays off! As a proud member of Debenhams' beauty club, I receive mini products every month. So far these have included Kat Von D goodies and Guerlain mini perfumes. Furthermore, as a member of the club you can get free makeovers and foundation samples at the counter of brands like YSL, Estee Lauder, etc. This way you can test it out before you splurge.
  • Freebie Websites. Most companies send freebies to attract customers. You can find freebie offers on websites like Magic Freebies, Student Money Saver and Your Beauty Club. Some of them work, some don't. In the past I have received a few perfume samples in my post box and even a Sanctuary body butter. Who wouldn't love that?
I hope this post has been helpful for those of you who like to try products before they splurge. This is a good way to test new beauty products for free, especially if you are on a budget.

Birchbox November 2017 Review

Beauty subscription boxes have become very popular in the recent years.  Companies like Birchbox, Glossybox, Look Fantastic, Pink Parcel, etc. have been competing with each other to receive customer's attention.

Contrary to the fact that I'm a beauty junkie, I had never actually tried one myself. I purchased Birchbox's November box when they were running a Black Friday promotion. The box was 50% off regular price, which means I paid £5. (£10 RRP). The delivery was £3. So for the price of £8 total, I received a box full of mini gems to try out. As you may know, each month you receive a box of sample products, which is personalized according to your beauty profile. This means you don't get to pick the products you wish to receive. However, you can choose an element of your box, such as a product or the design.

November's box was a collaboration with Vogue, which means the products were part of Vogue 100 Beauty Hall Of Fame

  • Birchbox brush cleansing tool. The tool would have been very intriguing if I didn't actually have one already. These kinds of tools really help to deep clean your brushes in no time. I would recommend it.
  • Percy&Reed Smooth Sealed & Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil. This brand is new to me, but I've definitely heard people rave about it. The product itself is quite nice. I usually put Orifluido oil in my frizzy curly hair. This 'no oil oil' does pretty much the same job, but its texture is silky, rather than greasy. It sinks into the hair in seconds. Someone with fine hair would really appreciate that! I also fancy the smell.
  • Klorane Dry Shampoo. I will always be a fan of Batiste dry shampoos, but sometimes they are too heavy even for my greasy roots. Klorane's dry shampoo feels much lighter. Because it's a mini version, I keep it in my handbag and spritz my fringe throughout the day.
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top coat. I have to admit this product has lived up to expectations. The best top coat I've ever used! Dries in seconds and leaves a glossy finish, which lasts for days.
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer. This product was a special bonus in every box. Even though it's a pretty small size, I really enjoy using it to contour. I mean, we all know this is the most popular bronzer, don't we? Well, there's a reason for it. It has a cool tone to it and it blends into the skin like a dream! Definitely a must have.
I know this post comes late, but I wanted to give my opinion about the products and the box. Overall, even for the full price of £12.95, Birchbox is worth it! I really enjoyed using every single product in November's box.
